I Interviewed Dolph Lundgren. Plus! Podcasts!
Just a little round-up of some more things for you to read and listen to.
Welcome to The #Content Report, a newsletter by Vince Mancini. I’ve been writing about movies, culture, and food since the aughts. Now I’m delivering it straight to you, with none of the autoplay videos, takeover ads, or chumboxes of the ad-ruined internet. Support my work and help me bring back the cool internet by subscribing, sharing, commenting, and keeping it real.
Happy Friday! Quick round up of things for you today.
First, remember Wanted Man? Let me refresh your memory with the poster:
It was quite a poster. The actual movie couldn’t possibly live up to a poster like that, right? It mostly doesn’t. But when the publicist reached out to ask if I wanted to interview Dolph Lundgren about it (he also directed and co-wrote), what was I going to say, no? Of course I want to interview Dolph Lundgren. This guy went from chemical engineer to karate champion to having group sex with Grace Jones at the peak of Studio 54, and that was before he became a movie star. Check out the whole interview at GQ because they paid me.
Secondly, podcasts!
- A Very Special Episode of the Frotcast Also Saltburn with Brendan. This one is free here*. We got Founding Frotter Brendan back on the cast, originally because he wanted to talk about Saltburn, but it turned into an important message about mental health. Then we talked about Saltburn anyway. Email Brendan at frotcastbrendan@gmail.com if you just need to connect with someone.
*Also, if you’re signed up to the free Frotcast feed on iTunes or whatever, please consider signing up to the Patreon, even if it’s just at the free level. We’re trying to consolidate the feeds so we don’t have to post everything seven different places.
- Brand new Pod Yourself The Wire, with Daniel Marans.
Here’s Brent’s full episode description:
“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stood at the loading dock of my big local journalism outlet at a mid-size post-industrial city” -Daniel Marans
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! This week on the pod we have another journalist on the pod! Huffington Post Senior Politics reporter Daniel Marans joins Matt & Vince to talk about The Wire season five, episode two, “Unconfirmed Reports.”
Jimmy and Scott are making stuff up and getting rewarded for it. Maybe we should just lie on the podcast more. Hey, if you sign up for the Patreon, not only will you get a street name, but so far everyone who has signed up for the Patreon also got a text from their crush within the next week. No bs. I know I just said we were going to start lying but that’s true.
A recurring theme on this pod is liking when the guys are friends, and this episode it’s Marlo and Avon who are warming heart cackles by bonding over their hatred of East Baltimore’s drug game players. The game is the game, but more importantly, the guys who are from the same place are friends.

ALSO:
Matt has a new episode of Bad Hasbara with Norah Barrows-Friedman, and a comedy show March 17th in Sacramento that he’s never going to stop bugging you about. Just go, man, it’ll be easier on all of us.
Dude, wait, did the interview really end sort of suddenly about the misfire in the Alec Baldwin movie? Feels like there is more.. I was curious if Vince asked him about his cancer diagnosis but it didn't come up; wouldn't be shocked if Dolph is done talking about it but the ending still felt strange..
