Welcome to The #Content Report, a newsletter by Vince Mancini. I’ve been writing about movies, culture, and food since the aughts. Now I’m delivering it straight to you, with none of the autoplay videos, takeover ads, or chumboxes of the ad-ruined internet. I didn't notice the tiny little capitol building silhouette in God & Country, so until I read the description, I was convinced it was some kind of right-wing Christian film. I feel like perhaps their marketing should make it clearer that it is actually aimed at heathens such as myself.
God and Country, eh? I'm trying to decide if I'd rather slam my balls in a car door or have Rob Reiner lecture me for 2 plus hours...I mean, the car door would be over quicker. Just say'n.
I've seen the trailers for Argylle and One Love before every single movie, regardless of genre, for the last month and a half. I can't believe I still have two more months with both. Love ya, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch, but that is a "if it pops up on streaming and I'm tired" movie if I ever saw one.
Between "trying to look like a book cover" and "big hole in a flower", my 1st thought about "The Zone of Interest" was definitely "pretentious bullshit about sex, so you're not alone.
"The Boy" is not bad if you're into that kind of stuff. I mean it's no Megan but it's definitely better than... well... The Boy II.
Freud's Last Session looks like one of those "God's Not Dead" movies but if it was made by A24. When I saw the poster at the AMC where I saw American Fiction my thought was, "Hmm, CS Lewis? Oh fuck, they're gonna debate the existence of God, aren't they?" AND I WAS PROVEN RIGHT.

Although I’m cool with them suckering some theocrats in as well.
So the protagonist of The Tiger's Apprentice is basically Poochie, right?
The original tiger from Hell!
Good Grief? Please let Dan Levy's character be Linus.

That Mayhem! poster is fantastic... The piece de resistance is the "!" in the title.
But I must say the poster for Lord of Misrule really gave it a run for it's money.

Incredible restraint by the graphic designer on that "Mayhem" poster to not toss in a handful of sparks to go with that diagonal title.
The trailer for Zone of Interest was really good, they tricked me with that one.
Was it not good? I haven't seen it yet but it looks interesting and I've seen it on a few best-of lists.
It was really good, but I wasn't expecting the whole Nazi camp next door reveal.
Can you please review Leave the World Behind so I know how terrible it is without having to watch it?
I saw it the other day and didn't hate it. What? Thats like an A++ when it comes to Netflix movies.
I'm shocked.
