A 'Ren Faire' Where Are They Now with Lance Oppenheim. Jeffrey Baldwin's new job title, how many energy drinks Louie Migliaccio drinks in a day, and who was recently fired.
Just finished this tonight and have a few observations:
- Either George is into dark haired goth girls or goth girls are very prevalent in the fin-dom sugar-daddy community. Discuss.
- The doc hinted at Louie possibly being wreckless with his family's money. At first he struck me as the kind of grind-set guy who talks big about making money but burns through capital at an unsustainable rate to execute his 'big ideas' and never turns a profit, but by the end of the doc I wasn't so sure.
- I'd like to know what the Greeks' reaction was to their deal falling through. I'm assuming the wisley chose to stay out of the doc though.
- I had sympathy for Jeff until the audition scene where he kept interrupting his wife. That woman has the forbearance of a saint and deserves better.
- Having watched both this and Some Kind of Heaven, I'd say I enjoy Oppenheimer's approach of doc making even if I'm usually left with questions. Your standard true crime or cult doc is usually much more thorough in diving into characters and background details, which usually make them feel overstuffed and too long, but as someone who likes having all the facts they're a less stressful watch. I'm sure that's a deliberate choice by Oppenheimer, and it's effective if frustrating at times.
But yet there aren't any Stimpy faires.
Curious.
That fruit hung too low. You're better than that.
Jeffrey felt like an actor character in Barry
Oh god he did!

I haven't watched the doc, and probably won't, but I get the feeling King George and the guy from the King of Kong are similar in a lot of ways.
Next time you interview Lance, I would really love to know what it's like to be friends with Bari Weiss
