Vince, I don’t know if you’ve read the book about the history of the MCU but it’s very funny how they figured out which characters were eligible for the SSU
“Her only friend is Ben (Adam Scott), who excoriates her for being so grumpy and aloof all the time.”
ADAM SCOTT’S WHOLE THING FOR LIKE A DECADE IS THAT HE IS GRUMPY AND ALOOF! It’s why he’s so great as a straight man.
Casting Adam Scott as someone who complains when someone is “grumpy and aloof” is like casting Gwyneth Paltrow as someone likeable or Vince’s mom as a nun
The weirdest part about the viral quote from the trailer is that it sounds like three different lines cut together “He was in the Amazon with my mom” :splice: “when she was researching spiders” :splice: “right before she died.” Or like she’s doing a weak Chris Walken impression.
" A male Spider-Man saw that he was to be replaced by a new generation of young women and targeted three teenagers to prevent it? Surely he is a stand-in for an aging fanboy, wholly uncomfortable with diversification in the genre." JFC, maybe take a breath Slash. At least the Tribune got me to look up somnambulant. Guys, it means sleep walking-esq.
I felt that they did not spend the same amount of ad dollars on this as they do for the more male centered films, which left me either thinking they knew it wasn't great or they're not trying to uplift women's voices as much.
Fuck, i love this feature. Really just commenting to show appreciation. Nothing to add.
I kinda prefer these shit shows to the terrible mediocrity of the last Ant-Man or Doctor Strange films. Also good fodder for the folks at Rifftrax.

What's the name of the book?

Counterpoint: Jason Sudeikis' thing for a long time was that he was smug, but he pulled off Ted Lasso.
He did what to who?

Considering it wasn't in the film, it probably was three lines cut together.
Now I wish they did that for the entire movie
"mousy goody-two-shoes Julia Cornwall (Sydney Sweeney) — who wears thick sweaters and glasses to fool us into thinking she’s 16"
Stop.

Love these, thanks for doing them.
I look forward to watching this trainwreck with some adult beverages and edibles once it comes to streaming in...3 months?
Thanks, Vince — these are always great!
There’s a Coyote Ugly thing in here at one point? Talk about burying the lead.
I’ve been waiting for this since the trailer dropped.
What's ADR? Duck Duck Goose isn't sure.
Automated Dialogue Replacement. Recording dialogue after the film to replace what was captured during filming to clean up the sound
Damn, didn't it used to be Additional Dialogue Recording/Replacement? I am old.
From my quick search I think that is what it is referred to even if that isn't the specific acronym

The reviews don’t do it justice.
Going to watch it as soon as my friend gets over whatever illness she's claiming to put off watching this.
