Crazy that Kneecap is actually playing at my local cinemark in tx. For sure i thought someone sent you a screener because “only Vince can appreciate an Irish 8-Mile” or something. I will see it later but curiosity got the better of me for Shyamalan’s latest wackadoo twist (spoiler: there is no insane twist actually)
I was also shocked. I thought it was the annual “festival movie I scream about impotently” for 9 months, but then saw it was even playing here in Fresno. I worry they’re going to dump it because it’s going to take too long to build but I’m happy to see it available too.
Pretty strong, i thought. Him being the doting dad was fun and the movie had great use of his physical stature/height. Didnt realize until recently that we’re in the Hartnett-assaince
It's an interesting time we are living in. There's not a single trustworthy outlet in existence. I suppose the upside is if someone publishes something I don't like I can simply point out their past failures to discredit them. Only the things I like are true! Cool.
- It seems stupid to try to cancel Megalopolis for vaguely sourced gossip when Shia Labeouf and Jon Voight are provably starring in it, and FFC provably supported Victor Salva for decades. I'm there opening weekend - the reviews at Cannes gave me Southland Tales vibes.
- As always, trans panics are about trans women and never about trans men, because a straight man would never get seduced by a man with a vagina, but might get seduced by a woman with a penis, and then what, they'd have to question their sexuality? Pssh.
- I'm gonna miss Kneecap the one week it's playing at my local AMCs, but I'll get to it. Trap was silly fun.
Re a man with a vagina (the Old Gregg, I believe it's called), both Matt Lieb and Vince opined they'd prefer that to a woman with a penis on an episode of the Frotcast about 8 years ago. I only remember this because it seemed like an objectively insane take.
