"Battling a batter emulsion" is also my code name for strogging off.

My Canadian observations: Objectively hilarious that they thought to showcase St. Lawrence Market, an absolutely incredible location to send the contestants to shop from from a visual and practical perspective, but did so in such a way that all we saw the teams look for was junk food to sabotage each other. Hope the B-roll was enough to do it justice!

Also the idea of a sugar shack being a place for brunch is news to me, though probably true because if there's one thing people in Toronto/Southern Ontario love to do, it's spend an hour waiting in a line outside a brunch spot.

Fellow Canadian/Torontonian - Also haven't heard of sugar shacks as brunch spots, and I grew up going to the Elmira Maple Syrup festival and it's bus trips to maple bushes every year.

St. Lawrence Market was very high on my list of 'places I'm sure we'll see', and it feels like monkey paw levels of fulfilment that it was there but as a trolling exercise. Makes me wonder what weird twist they'll add to Kensington Market. "Go through these vintage clothing stores and pick wild outfists for your competitors to wear when hosting restaurant wars. Sponsored by AirBnB."

LCK talk (no spoilers): I haaaate that they're doing the thing they did last season where they have people start in LCK and try to win their way onto the show proper. At least last season it kinda made sense since they were down a competitor. This season it just sucks. Let those poor Canadians into the main cast!

Agreed, though I do like that there are three chefs competing in any given LCK challenge. Feels like a fairer chance to that competition, instead of a potential situation with just two chefs and someone has to be permanently eliminated for a solid dish.

Have to give bonus points to Anya. When she was first introduced at the start of Episode 1 I gave her no chance. But not only has she kept putting out dishes everyone loves, but I think the pine cone thing was the first time I've seen someone present something that NONE of the judges had ever had before. And did she say it was from Siberia?? Let's keep getting weird, Anya.

I can’t look at Vinny Apple Soup without seeing Tim Robinson. Which makes viewing the episodes even better.

Every season - 1 nickname solidifies to where I will always refer to them that way in perpetuity. “Big Cabbage” is that for this season
