What is The #Content Report?
An OG blogger is bringing back blogging, now with no advertisers and even less discretion. Movies are content. TV is content. The #Content Report is content about content.
To be more specific: entertainment news with commentary, reviews sometimes, maybe the occasional interview or feature, even some recipes. Above all, a little levity in your inbox, I hope, in whatever form that happens to take. It’s content-related content! Funny and informative. Infotainment. #Content.

Sorry, I should back up a little. Hi, I’m Vince. In 2007 I co-founded a movie blog called FilmDrunk, a sister site to WithLeather (sports), WWTDD (What Would Tyler Durden Do, a celebrity gossip site), and later, WarmingGlow (TV) and GammaSquad (geek news). Maybe you remember it fondly from the Google Reader days. I certainly do. FilmDrunk eventually became a vertical of Uproxx, where I was most recently “Senior Film & Culture Writer.”
Back in the old blog days, we were sort of inventing a format, even if we didn’t fully recognize it. —News story we thought was interesting, some little jokes about it, maybe with some mini-fiction and traditional features mixed in. Essentially, keeping you informed and stocked with stuff to read on the toilet or to keep you from blowing your brains out at your mind-numbing job. A valuable service, I thought.
Later on I wrote a lot of more traditional, longer-form features like reviews, reporting, interviews, rankings, and what have you. My purpose was, and in a lot of ways still is, doing culture criticism (and humor writing!) in a way that was honest, entertaining, and unaffected, but still insightful and authoritative.
I’m hoping to do more of that here. Probably more short form (I don’t think people always want to read 1200-word critiques, lots of times they just want some news nuggets and some chuckles), but also occasional reviews and essays.
The upside here (what, you need MORE upside, you ingrate?!) is that this format allows me to do that without worrying about what advertisers think about it or which industry friends of current or future bosses I might be pissing off in the process. And guess what else? No autoplay videos and chum boxes and bullshit will be clogging up the reading experience. I’ll be able to write just for you, person who enjoys reading, without having to bait you with misleading headlines or artificially juice the SEO to hit my numbers.
I plan to reinvent some beloved features, like poster round ups and recreating movies using reviews; and moreover, bring blogging back while applying an interesting voice to this new(ish) format.
